RE-LOAD creates employment in Cape Town and supports social projects

We are busy supporting a creche in the cape flats (since August 2012)

The idea to manufacture bags from recycled billboard-material was generated more or less accidentally. The founder, German-born Peter Kirsten, who is a biologist by profession, lives in Cape Town sincef 2008. What was just a crazy idea at first, became much more very soon after the first bags produced, were snapped up quickly.

To  re-use existing material and to avoid plastic waste was not only a worth-while task, but, if a nice idea could be created around it, something useful, fun and beneficial could be produced from the waste.

Hundreds of them hang around at walls everywhere; they look us at the airport, at hotels and the highways as well. Never for a long time, but always at selected places, they are colourful and stand-out with snappy slogans.

Huge billboard banners are well-known to everybody and accepted as eye-catcher, giving colour to bland and grey areas.

But no-one hardly thinks about the huge amounts of synthetic, plastic and toxic waste generated for just a very short

period after usage of the banners. These banners are now given a second life and  re-load -bags are produced.

Each bag is a unique designer-piece, cut and joined from single components. No bag looks like any other and each one has their own serial-number. An environmental concept which re-uses material and creates fun through fashion.

The bags are produced in communities of former disabled areas and create employment for people.

Due to its size, this bag is perfect as universal bag as it can be closed easily, quick and safely with Velcro. The bag protects from rainand water and its size is suitable for laptops and other things like clothes .

The bags are perfect for conferences and congresses and we have done several important projects during the last  years ,e.g.

Wines of South Africa WOSA 2014

International congress of Infectious diseases Cologne June 2014

Freelancer Swiss company

The SAGIC Conference 06/2013 Johannesburg

The Wolrd Congress of Paediatric Cardiology and Heart Surgery 2/2013 Cape Town
